Chromos
for flute and piano

Chromos is constructed in three parts, slow - fast - slow, and was inspired by the colorful playing of Tim Lane to whom the work is dedicated.
The thematic source material found in the opening section is freely developed throughout. Although technical challenges are present, emphasis is placed on the expressive qualities of the flute. Influenced by the impressionists, the tonal language is free style throughout.
Chromos has now been released on the Simax label, PPC9059, performed by the eminent artists Gro Sandvik, flute, and Einar Røttingen, piano.
