Skyline Studios specializes in classical music recording. We presently offer 24 track digital recording with first rate equipment using the Tascam MX2424 SE digital hard disk recorder or ProTools HD as the primary recording unit. Additional equipment includes the Millennia HV-3D and SYTEK MPX-4A mic preamps and microphones by AKG, Audio Technica, Danish Pro Audio, Electro-Voice, Microtech Gefell, Neumann, Royer, Schoeps, Sennheiser and Shure. Effects processors include the Yamaha SPX 2000 and Lexicon LXP-1, LXP-5 and 300. Outboard compressors include several dbx 160As and the Summit Audio DCL-200 for mastering.
Recordings are normally executed in 24 bit but can be converted to any bit and sample rate using the Apogee PSX-100 SE. Digital tape decks include Audio editing and processing is accomplished using Pro Tools. Plug-ins by Digidesign and Waves (Gold Bundle and Restoration) are commonly utilized. MIDI compositions are normally created using the Digital Performer software by Mark of the Unicorn. Sound effects are created in-house. Additional effects from Hollywood Edge are used when needed. Video processing is done using the full version of Media100i with both the analog and digital options. We are able to do a limited number of DVD creations using Apple's DVD Pro software. Conversion to international VHS formats is available. Hardware includes Betacam SP camera and Betacam SP and DVcam editing recorders. We also process S-VHS and Hi-8 formats. The Macintosh platform is used in all audio and video editing.
